Gran Turismo 5, the racing simulator from developer Polyphony Digital and publisher Sony, which is exclusive to the PlayStation 3 home console, has managed to take the first spot in the United Kingdom video game chart, toppling long time first runner Call of Duty: Black Ops.Gran Turismo 5 was delayed for quite a long time and at one point the game seemed to be close to vaporware status but the launch shows that fans are still interested in realistic racing and quickly snapped it up.
Call of Duty: Black Ops, from Treyarch and Activision Blizzard, has not fallen far, taking over the second spot in the chart, which will probably occupy for quite a long time.
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the new game featuring Ezio and his reinterpretation of history, has also slid down one spot to reach third place.
FIFA 11 from EA Sports is still glued to number four in the chart, showing the popularity of the football simulator in the game where the game is played with the most passion.
Just Dance 2 from Ubisoft continues to stand tall and casual in fifth place while Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, from developer Criterion and publisher Electronic Arts, has fallen three places to reach sixth place in the United Kingdom hierarchy.
Wii Party from Nintendo is down one place from six to seven while Art Academy follows close behind.
Wii Sports Resort is at number nine while Fallout: New Vegas from Obsidian and Bethesda has reentered the top ten in its last place.
Professor Layton and the Lost Future is out of the top ten and Kinect Sports from Microsoft has also gone out of the chart, showing a general slow down in sales of the new motion tracking system from Microsoft.
New Super Mario Bros for the Wii has also seen a big slide, ending up in 17.
