Given that it features loads of cars, 5 tracks and online play, charging for it on Blu-ray was obvious

Several gaming websites claim that Sony has already priced Gran Turismo 5 Prologue for Europe - ?45/$60, on Blu-ray. As you can imagine, opinions are very divided on the Internet. While some totally agree that we're not dealing with a regular demo here, others dismiss the possibility of getting it for their own gaming pleasure right from the start, claiming it's waaaay to expensive for something not full-version.

The news comes courtesy of fok.nl and in case you, disappointed PS3 owners out there, didn't know, Sony has always shipped a somewhat limited version of the Gran Turismo installment to follow, a few months before the full game's official launch date. Titles such as "Gran Turismo Concept: 2001 Tokyo Collection," "Gran Turismo Concept: 2002 Tokyo-Seoul," Gran Turismo Concept: 2002 Tokyo-Geneva" and even "Gran Turismo 4 Prologue" have been priced and launched before the full versions of the game came out (full versions of GT3: A-Spec and GT 4 that is).

Of course, most of them are Gran Turismo Concept versions; nevertheless, they all featured about half of what was to come with the release of GT 3 and GT 4. As for the franchise's actual demos, here are some examples:

- Toyota Prius demo - BMW 1-series demo disc - Nissan Micra demo disc - Nissan 350Z demo disc

Now, these babies never had a price tag stuck to them, but they didn't feature 40 superb cars and online play either, now did they? That's right, according to neogaf.com, the game will feature "loads of cars, 5 tracks and online play."

I for one totally agree with Sony for pricing Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. What I don't agree with is the price itself. 45 Euros?! Jeez, are they that hungry...? What are they going to charge for the full game then?
