Sony has just announced that it will be delaying its much anticipated racing game Gran Turismo 5, once more, as the title's developer, Polyphony Digital, will polish it up and make sure that it will deliver the best racing experience.

Gran Turismo 5, up until recently, was somewhere in vaporware territory, alongside Duke Nukem and other titles that were supposed to arrive a long time ago but were still, supposedly, in development.

That changed though, as the title was seemingly set to to finally appear this year, during the spring season, in Japan at least.

The title was pushed back though, and a new release date was nailed down in November, this time being a worldwide one.

Now though, Sony has once again announced that the title will be delayed, and won't make its scheduled release date this November.

Instead, the company revealed on the PlayStation Blog that Gran Turismo 5 will be launched this holiday season.

What the term holiday season means hasn't been revealed, so it might be this December or it might be January of 2011.

Sony apologized for this new delay, and assured fans that the development is working as hard as it can on the racing simulator.

"We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches. "

More information will be revealed in the near future by Sony, but this delay will no doubt affect many racing game fans that were excited about Gran Turismo 5 coming exclusively to the PlayStation 3.
