14 DAY TRIAL // The 2015 edition of the Grammy Awards took place last Sunday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, honoring accomplishments in music in all genres. The biggest stars working in showbiz right now came out to celebrate, and in Kanye West’s case, lament that the Grammys are disrespecting inspiration.
Taylor Swift, one of the most nominated artists of the night, was one of the few nominees to not perform, because she didn’t have the time and energy to prepare a number because she’s busy rehearsing for her upcoming tour.
So all the time other stars spent preparing or costume-changing, including during commercial breaks, Taylor spent dancing, having the time of her life and exchanging pleasantries with fellow celebrities. Oh, and she also squashed her years-long beef with Kanye.
The Grammys camera placed in the audience captured the moment when Taylor went up to Jay Z and Kanye, spoke to the latter and then insistently demanded that the former agree to a brunch date with her.
“I really want to do brunch,” she told him (the video has no audio, by the way, but look for it at the 30-second mark). “Brunch. Brunch. Brunch,” she added, until she got a smiling nod from Jay. She then turned to pose with Kanye, happy that she’d set up this meeting.
I should note that Taylor and Jay aren’t strangers: in fact, when she turned 21 and she threw a big birthday party, her guestlist also included power couple Jay Z and Beyonce, and they were spotted hanging out on other occasions as well.
Still, it’s funny and sweet at the same time, to see how she doesn’t give up until she gets things done her way.
