14 DAY TRIAL // Pharrell Williams won 4 Grammys last night at the 2014 edition of “music industry’s biggest night” but he also went on to become an Internet meme. Well, his hat did but, think about it, what would it have been without Pharrell to take it out?
Above is a photo of Pharrell and his oversized hat, which he probably stole from a park ranger, photobombing Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet. That, my dears, was only the beginning of an amazing night for today’s most famous headpiece in the world.
After Arby’s called the singer out on Twitter, with “Hey @Pharrell, can we have our hat back? #GRAMMYs,” thus winning the distinction of the biggest online troll for the night, everyone was talking about nothing but the hat.
Shortly afterwards, it even got its own Twitter account, and proceeded to offer followers a view of the Grammys as seen through its (non-existent) eyes.
Pharrell’s Hat is so famous right now that it’s even suggesting makeovers for the likes of Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, both of whom looked fabulous on the red carpet. However, says the Hat, they would have been twice as fab if they’d worn ranger’s hats as well.
Internet fame tends to be short-lived, so here’s to hoping Pharrell’s Hat won’t spend whatever money it makes on booze and drugs and bling, but invest wisely because all this could be gone tomorrow.
