The pop singer Lorde was going to the Grammys anyway, since she's nominated for four awards, but now it looks as though she's also going to be performing on stage on the night of the big event.

The New Zeeland-born singer had already done a performance for the Grammys in the nominations concert back in December. She must have done a good job with that, because they've asked for an encore, this time at the big one, going down on January 26.

Lorde is nominated for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album with her debut material “Pure Heroine”.

She'll be fighting it out with some of the most popular acts out there in the music industry, so it's going to be fierce competition for the 17-year-old.

In order to make the Grammy 2014 performance happen, Lorde was sadly forced to cancel her appearance at Laneway music festival in Auckland that is taking place on January 27.

Lorde will be taking the stage next to other confirmed acts such as Imagine Dragons, Daft Punk, Stevie Wonder and Pharrell Williams.
