14 DAY TRIAL // At last night’s Grammy Awards, LL Cool J promised a tribute to poet and musician Bob Marley like we’ve never seen before, bringing together some of the biggest names on the music scene today. The only actual “tribute” included in the tribute is in the video above.

I’ll explain: though the moment was dubbed a Bob Marley tribute, it didn’t feel that way until towards the end, when Rihanna and the Marleys joined Bruno Mars and Sting (who had been performing their own songs until then) for a shortened version of “Could You Be Loved.”
The moment was undoubtedly spectacular but calling it a Bob Marley tribute felt like somewhat of a cheat, various voices online are saying. It would have been different if both Bruno and Sting had covered one of Marley’s songs, and not performed their own.
