Katy Perry has perfect timing, because she found the perfect venue to introduce new music: the Grammy Awards 2012. The pop star performed at the awards show – check out the video above to see her segment.

Perry, dressed in an eye-catching latex suit, kicked off her number with her chart-topping “ET.”

She didn't get to sing much of it, though, because, after a planned “technical error,” she launched into a power anthem, a song her fans had never heard before.

It's called “Part of Me” and, if we're to believe rumors online, it was written after her reportedly amicable split from her husband Russell Brand.

Come to think of it, given the words of the track, it's not far-fetched to think it's about her soon to be ex though, officially, Katy hasn't said anything yet in this sense.

“Now look at me, I’m sparking/ A firework, a dancing flame/ You won’t ever put me out again,” Katy sang before adding. “So you can keep the diamond ring.”
