Much is being said about adopting the right attitude when losing to a competitor at an awards show. However, none of that applies to Bruno Mars, who completely flipped out when he didn't win Best Pop Solo Performance at the Grammys 2012. Running in the same category with Adele (“Someone Like You”), Lady Gaga (“Yoü And I”), Katy Perry (“Firework”) and Pink (“[Expletive]-in’ Perfect”), Bruno was considered a favorite.
However, the odds were against him – and Adele won.
The video below shows the moment when Adele's name was called out and Bruno's reaction to hearing someone else named the winner.
In all fairness, there is no other indication (meaning, other than this clip) that he was upset, but this video seems to point out that he's letting out some steam and frustration.
There are also voices saying that he's not upset, but that he's jumping up and down because he's happy for Adele. Frankly, this is probably very unlikely, especially considering how tense he is before the winner is announced.
On the bright side, Bruno also performed at the Grammys and
he killed it!
