After a very difficult week, Christina Aguilera redeemed herself at the Grammy Awards 2011, leading a tribute to the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin. Musically, she was nearly flawless – but on a personal level, she was a “trainwreck,” reports are saying.

As we also noted the other day, at the end of the tribute performance, while straining to hit the highest notes, Christina doubled her body in effort – and lost balance and nearly fell.

Audiences at home barely noticed the slip because the cameras had already panned out of the group of singers where Aguilera also was, as PopEater also notes.

However, it was enough for some to see it in some videos (like the one embedded at the end of the article) for talk to start making the rounds: she tripped, she fell, she made a fool of herself.

None of that is true, the e-zine says – but sources backstage do tell a rather worrying story about Christina’s behavior before and after the show, describing her as an ongoing “trainwreck.”

“It’s a trainwreck. No one knows what’s going on with her, but whatever it is, it isn’t good,” one source dishes for PopEater.

“The audience at home could hardly see it because it was shot from afar. However, everyone in the stadium did and was shocked,” the same spy goes on to say.

As if that wasn’t enough, Aguilera had been behaving oddly before the show, which would explain why she suddenly “forgot how to walk,” as PopEater puts it.

“She was acting very erratic backstage before her performance and wouldn’t let anyone into her dressing room before the show began. Something is very wrong,” the spy says.

Christina was joined in the Grammys 2011 Aretha Franklin tribute by Martina McBride, Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch and Yolanda Adams.

While some say that Aguilera seemed at points to be trying to out-sing all the other women with her on stage, the consensus is that she put on a performance worthy of the nickname the public bestowed on her, The Voice.
