Graffiti, one of the latest mobile applications released for Android-based devices, has been recently updated to version 2.0. Made available for download via the Android Market only last month, the software solution offers users the possibility to try out a new input method on their handsets. Graffiti was one of the most popular applications available for Palm devices, and brings that an alternative way to enter data on a touch screen to handsets running under Google's Android OS too.

Last week, ACCESS announced that it has joined forces with the Open Handset Alliance, when it unveiled plans to release an Japanese version of Graffiti for Android, and the main feature of Graffiti for Android 2.0 is the support for Japanese input. However, it seems that other new features were also included in the package, such as English word suggestion, English word learning, auto capitalization, and typing error correction.

Graffiti for Android joins ACCESS' existing range of software and services already announced for the Android platform. ACCESS recently enhanced several of its acclaimed NetFront series technologies to support the Android platform and is providing these to operators and handset manufacturers worldwide. In June 2010, ACCESS announced NetFront Magazine Viewer for Android and launched eMagazine sales and services on Android Market for Android users in Japan,” the company said in a press-release last week.

Graffiti for Android 2.0 has been made available for download on the Android Market free of charge, the same as the first release. According to ACCESS, even if the app was published in the software portal only a few weeks ago, it has been already downloaded by tens on thousands of users, which now enjoy Graffiti's capabilities to input letters, numbers and characters quickly and easily using their finger on the touch screen.

Those who haven't tried out the application until now can download it from the Android Market straight to their mobile phones via this link, or through scanning the QR code to the left with the handset's camera.
