14 DAY TRIAL // Skyfire, the iOS web browser capable of putting Flash on your iDevice, is now available at a discount price - 48 hour ‘flash sale,’ according to its developers. The offer runs until Friday, 9 a.m. (PST).
As reported by Softpedia on numerous occasions, Skyfire is a web browser for iOS devices.
It is capable of translating Flash-encoded videos into iOS-friendly formats, and comes in very handy as Apple’s iOS does not support Adobe’s Flash format.
All the heavy (decoding) work is done on the Skyfire servers, so the device only plays what it’s being fed from the Skyfire servers, over the customer’s wireless internet connection.
“Skyfire is the browser that not only allows you to view Flash Videos on iOS, but provides as well the best integration of social features for a quicker, more informative and most of all fun internet experience,” reads the developer’s description.
Updated earlier this month for iPhone and iPad users alike, Skyfire now features faster URL entry with auto-complete, fixed empty history problem and click-to-call issues, more robust private browsing mode, addressed several crash issues, and performance improvements.
Those interested in downloading the app should be aware that the app does come with its limitations, as noted by the developers themselves.
While Flash videos are supported - this being the main purpose of the Skyfire app - Flash games and apps are not. Hulu, the popular video streaming service, is also not supported.
Additionally, not all Flash sites are supported, though the team is working hard at adding support for all the popular ones, according to the iTunes description.

Skyfire is available for iPhone and iPod touch via two separate applications. The iPad version costs $4.99 and requires iOS 3.2 or later. The iPhone version costs $2.99. Both have been discounted to $3.99 and $1.99 respectively.
