An Anonymous-affiliated group called Clash Hackerz has breached and defaced the official website of Ukraine’s Brovary region (brovary-region.gov.ua).

At the time of writing, it appears that administrators are working on restoring the website. The defacement page was displayed for around 13 hours. A mirror is available on zone-h.org.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time when the Brovary region’s website is hacked. Back in April 2011, it was defaced by hackers from Azerbaijan.

Numerous Ukrainian government websites have been targeted by hacktivists since the anti-government protests started in Kiev. However, in most cases, the hackers launched distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks to disrupt the websites, instead of actually hacking them.

While many people are showing support for the protesters in Kiev, some are on the other side of the barricade. On Sunday, unknown actors launched a DDOS attack on the website of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, which provides extensive coverage of the events in Ukraine.
