Harmonix and MTV Games are announcing that Gorillaz, the band put together by Damon Albarn from Blur, is set to contribute its first tracks to the Rock Band Music Store during this week, on dates depending on the system on which you plan to get them. Alongside three songs from the virtual band, players will also be able to download tracks from other artists.

The Gorillaz hits released will be “Clint Eastwood,” “Feel Good Inc.” and “Re-Hash.” Janis Joplin will be contributing the classic “Piece of My Heart,” The Band will offer up “Chest Fever,” Jefferson Airplane is bringing “White Rabbit” and the pack also contains “Magic Bus” from The Who.

Those interested in the offer can pick the songs up for 440 Microsoft Points or 5.49 dollars in real world money, each track being priced at 1.99, as always. The people who play Rock Band on the Xbox 360 can get them today, while PlayStation 3 users will have to wait two days to get them as part of the normal update that comes to the PlayStation Store on August 13.

The Nintendo Wii is also set to get new songs this week. All the tracks are already available on other platforms but it still makes sense to check out the store if you are a fan of Blink-182, Damone, KISS, Weezer, Fratellis, Pat Benatar, Steve Miller Band or Thin Lizzy. Players who are interested in mobile Rock Band action will also be getting new music.

MTV Games and Harmonix are gearing up for the release of The Beatles Rock Band, which is coming on September 9 to all major platforms, aiming to introduce the experience of being in the biggest band on Earth to gamers. The title is set to get stark competition from Guitar Hero 5, arriving on September 1.
