In Canada, they even beat the living soul out of each other politely

For many, Seann William Scott will always be associated with his “American Pie” Stifler: funny, charming, articulate, a real ladies' man. In the upcoming “Goon,” he's the exact opposite of that, but he's just as dangerous.

Scott plays an accidental hockey player whose strong suit isn't his vocabulary or his ability to use it, but rather the mean punches he throws.

Liev Schreiber plays his nemesis, while Jay Baruchel is his brother and Alison Pill the love interest. Other faces you might recognize in the trailer are those of Kim Coates and Eugene Levy.

The video above is the just released green band trailer. If you like what you see – and there's no reason you shouldn't, since this promises to could very well turn out to be the underdog comedy of 2012 – make sure you look for the red band trailer as well.

They're practically the same, only that the latter features a bit more swearing, more blood and punches to the head and, last but not least, more of how Scott's character is rather dumb.

“Goon” will become available in theaters in the UK on January 6 and in the US on March 30.
