Google is one of that companies that are dreaming to conquer the world and have an office in every country of the world.

Some time ago, the company announced new offices for Google News in Norway and Sweden, a service that tends to be more popular day by day.

Today, The Sydney Morning Herald said Google wants to acquire new companies in Portugal that will allow a quick expansion into Africa.

"We want to enter Africa, not through fixed-line Internet access but through mobile access. We think it would be easier if we worked with countries that work directly with these nations. It (the Portuguese market) is a small market, which can be good to test business models, something that is difficult to do in big markets," Google head of European corporate development Anil Hansjee told Portuguese daily Diario de Noticias on Monday.

The publication also mentioned one company that can represent the target for Google's investments. "Portugal Telecom is the leading telecommunications and multimedia services provider in Portugal. Portugal Telecom is committed to generate and distribute shareholder value and remaining one of the most solid telecommunications operator in Europe," is it mentioned on the official website.

"Former state monopoly Portugal Telecom has around four million mobile subscribers in Africa where it operates in former Portuguese colonies as well as Morocco," The Sydney Morning Herald mentioned.

It looks like Google's expansion is only a matter of time because the company already attracted a huge number of fans with its products. If you have a quick look into Google Groups, you'll observe that there are a lot of users registered from Africa, so expect for a new Google domain soon.
