New Pack referral options to feature Picasa

Google Pack represents an interesting idea developed by Google that decided to provide all the downloadable applications designed by the company as a single pack. Google Pack is described as a free collection of essential software and contains several tools such as Google Earth, Picasa, Google Desktop, Google Toolbar and Google Pack Screensaver. The pack also contains a different category entitled additional software that allows you to install even more programs such as Firefox with Google Toolbar, Norton Antivirus 2005 Special Edition, Ad-Aware SE Personal and Adobe Reader 7. The pack can be customized with Google Talk and some multimedia applications such as RealPlayer, Skype, Google Video Player and GalleryPlayer HD Images.

Picasa is an application also provided by the search giant that allows you to manage and organize your huge collection of images with ease through a simple but attractive interface. Because Google Pack already features Picasa, the company decided to include the applications into Pack's referrals to make the software even more popular. Google posted a message on the official blog of the AdSense service to announce the new improvement.

"In the next few days you may notice a change to our Picasa referrals program. With the recent international launch of Google Pack referrals, we'll soon be consolidating Picasa and Pack referrals into a single program. Don't worry, you will still be able to direct users to Picasa as a part of Pack, which also includes useful software like Google Earth, Desktop and Toolbar.

To make for an easy transition, we'll upload new Pack referral options that feature Picasa. To transition to these new referrals, you should generate a new referral unit, choosing Google Pack as the product, and select one of the new Pack units that features Picasa. As an added benefit, if users decide that they only want to install Picasa from their Pack download, you'll still earn the referral fee for Pack -- double the value you were previously earning for Picasa alone," Dan Friedman, AdSense Product Marketing, mentioned in the blog post.
