The new feature might be available in Android M

With less than a month until Google I/O conference is set to kick off, the search giant published the whole schedule for both days, May 28 and 29.

Attendees will be happy to know that there will be plenty of sessions discussing new and upcoming Android features, as well as improvements that will be made to already existing services.

As we reported earlier today, Google might also announce the new Android M during I/O, though the company hasn't yet confirmed the information.

However, one of session descriptions mentions the name “Android M,” which is supposed to be the next version of the operating system. Although Google has since pulled this session from its website, the screenshot we've taken is there to prove it.

Anyway, Android M won't be the only new thing announced at Google I/O. It looks like the company plans to launch a new service called Voice Access.

The new service might only be available in Android M

As the name suggests, the new services will allow users to access their Android device through voice. It's unclear whether or not Voice Access will only be available in Android M, but we will find out more at the end of the month.

Here is an excerpt from the session's description: “What if you could provide users with a new method of access to your apps with little to no development overhead?

“In this talk, we introduce Voice Access, a service that gives anyone access to their Android device through voice alone. We will focus on simple steps developers can follow to ensure that Voice Access provides an optimal experience within their apps.”

What's clear is that developers will be presented with a new service that will require their applications, so users can take advantage of Android's new functions.

Obviously, it would be great if Voice Access were implemented to Android 5.0 Lollipop devices as well, but we will know more in less than 3 weeks so stay tuned for more on this one.
