Google's working on augmented reality glasses, self-driving cars and plenty of other secretive projects over at Google X. Now, it's unveiling its latest technological breakthrough, the talking shoe.
Google showed off the shoe, one of the small ideas from its new Art Copy & Code project, during SXSW over the weekend.
The Adidas high top is fitted with an Arduino-like custom microcontroller, an audio board and speaker and a Bluetooth connection. It's also got an accelerometer, pressure pads and other sensors.
But best of all, it's even got a personality, an athletic shoe might cheer you on when you start running, a lazy one will yell at you to slow down.
In case you're wondering, no, Google isn't going to sell these any time soon; and yes, you'd look and sound incredibly stupid wearing these. It's a cool project though.
