It's been more than two months since Google has adopted its new unified privacy policy and, well, the sky hasn't fallen over.
That doesn't mean that Google is off the hook just yet, Europe's privacy regulators are very suspicious about the whole thing and probably more than a little bit irritated that Google didn't heed their recommendation to stop the roll-out while they investigated and rolled out the new privacy policy all the same.
So France's information commission, CNIL, acting for the entire EU, has
scheduled yet another meeting with the company next week to go over some of the details. Google has already provided a 94-page document in response to previous inquiries.
It is unlikely that the investigation will grow into something bigger, regulators always make a fuss, so that everyone knows they're doing their job, but, most of the time, worst case scenario is they issue a fine.
