Mountain View-based internet giant Google has made a series of changes to its search on mobile devices, bringing it in line with the Google Now feature present in its latest Android release, Jelly Bean.

Through the latest improvements that mobile phone and tablet users can take advantage of, Google was aiming at providing a richer, more beautiful and more interactive experience.

Following the recent changes, when users are looking for weather info, for example, the Google Mobile Search results page will provide them with a new 10-day and hourly weather forecast, while enabling them to interact with it.

Moreover, Google has made changes to its calculator feature, so that users would receive access to a fully functional scientific calculator when searching for any calculation on google.com.

“Today when you search on mobile or tablet, you’ll see some more improvements in the way we provide these quick answers, including better understanding what information you need and surfacing the most relevant information for you,” Jeromy Henry, user experience designer, Google, explains in a blog post.

“For example, in our flight status quick answer, we’ve included a flight progress indicator and increased the size of arrival and departure times so you can quickly see when your loved ones will be landing.”

Owners of mobile phones and tablet PCs will also benefit from a series of other updated quick answer features, including finance, currency conversion, dictionary definitions, holiday and sunrise times, local time lookup, and unit conversion.

The entire experience has been simplified, providing users with the possibility to focus on the answers they receive on their mobile device’s screen, Google explains.

Moreover, the update also enables users to easily perform other searches related to the results they received, such as converting to different units of measure.

All these improvements are now available for people who are performing searches on google.com on their mobile phones or tablets in English. More enhancements are expected in the area, the aforementioned blog post concludes.
