By now, it's clear that Google Glass won't be lacking in interesting apps, though the one true killer app still hasn't surfaced. But with more and more apps that appeal to just enough people, perhaps one killer app isn't needed.
While Google hopes that developers will come up with new ways of using the device, and getting people to buy it, it's not leaving things to chance but building its own apps and tools for the device.
Case in point is the newly released
Field Trip for Glass. The app is built by Niantic Labs, which is owned by Google, the same unit that runs the Ingress alternate reality game Ingress.
Field Point came before the game though, it's about a year old now, although, interestingly enough, it was first intended for Glass. It landed on Android first, later on iOS, but it's now finally available
to Glass users as well.
The augmented reality app has a perfect home on Glass, letting you find out more about the places you're visiting or letting you peek inside a building before going in.
