For the distribution of Google toolbar

After winning the Dell deal over Microsoft, to pre-install Google toolbar on more than 100 million Dell computers, the Mountain View based company has signed another similar partnership this time with Adobe Systems. In an effort to block Microsoft which is expected to provide its own search system as a default setting with the release of Vista, Google is acting on a strategy that will allow for its brand of software to be distributed by partner sources with large audience.

In this regard, as Yahoo Tollbar can be installed simultaneously with Flash Player so will Google Toolbar be offered upon the download of Macromedia Shockwave Player. The online giant is targeting no less than 390 million users of Shockwave.

"The popularity and reach of Adobe technology gives Google even broader exposure to a growing base of consumers," Shantanu Narayen, Adobe's president, said in a statement. "We expect the agreement to represent significant revenue to Adobe over a period of years."

The financial details of the agreement have not been made public.
