Mountain View-based Internet giant Google is reportedly getting ready for the release of an updated version of the Google+ application for Android devices, and leaked photos showing that have already emerged online, it seems.

Apparently, Google already has a working version of the new Google+ application available in its labs, though the build is still not stable enough to be showcased.

This suggests that the new app iteration is still work in progress and that Google might actually not have it ready for release in the near future.

However, the company is sure to be planning the near availability of the aforementioned app refresh, even if no specific info on when it might push it out to users has been provided as of now.

Said leaked screenshots with the app come from Yoel Kaseb via Google+, who claims to have already been locked out of the APK, though he did manage to grab a few screenshots with the software in action.

As Android Police notes, the leaked screenshots with the application show that Google is planning on updating the app in line with other Android applications that leaked online recently.

Said screenshots show that a colored action bar has been added to the app and that there is also a circular button for new content.

Both of these elements have been spotted in the leaked refreshed Gmail and Calendar applications, which had a similar circular plus button.

The current gray overlay in Google+ for Android will be replaced with a red overlay, and the new post interface has been designed to float now on the screen, instead of being sent to a separate page in the app.

No confirmation on Google’s plans for the application has emerged until now, and there’s no telling on whether said leaked images are the real deal or not, but the fact that they show changes in line with other leaks suggests that they could be.

Moreover, as Android Police notes, the new leaks confirm once again that Google is planning on adding the aforementioned circular button to various app updates coming soon to its mobile operating system.

Should all said changes arrive on handsets and tablets in the near future, they will certainly be appreciated by users.

However, since no official info on the matter has been provided as of now, it remains to be seen when exactly Google will start pushing them out. Hopefully, more on this will emerge soon, so stay tuned.
