An updated flavor of the Google+ application is now available for download for the owners of Android-based devices, namely version 4.5.0.

The new app iteration is said to include a variety of stability and bug fixes, but it seems that it also includes one major feature, the ability to cast streams to Chromecast.

According to a post on Android Police, the application allows users to flip through posts while casting, courtesy of manual controls. However, they will also have an auto-play feature available for their stream.

The interface streamed on Chromecast resembles a lot the one in the Android applications, though the system interface and playback controls are not displayed.

Moreover, post images will take up the entire screen, with post content displayed at the top, and with the source at the bottom.

According to the news site, it appears that the feature is controlled server-side, which means that all people with the new Google+ 4.5.0 application loaded on their smartphones might be able to cast soon.

The updated application should be already rolling out to Android devices out here, and can also be seen on this page in the Google Play Store. However, the APK file is also available for manual download, it seems, though only with support for Android 4.4 and up.
