Google's decision to offer users an integrated program that allows the viewing of video clips found with Google Video Search has already started to generate speculations.

The first logical impression is that Google might develop the core of a video distribution service, something like iTunes for movies. But this idea is not backed by many arguments, especially since Google wouldn't want to have anything to do with DRM, not to mention that the company has never asked for any money in return of its services.

Google Video Viewer is just in the first development stage and let's not forget that after all, Google's main are of expertise is searching, desktop or Web.

In the same time, the PCs' hard disks are being stuffed with videoclips, homemade movies and all sorts of recorded shows. Hence, it's likely that we will witness the release of a search tool that combines Google Desktop Search and Google Video Viewer.

Practically, if up until now, users have been able to search information on the Web and on the desktop, now this might also apply to videoclips or any other video sequences. The border line between PC and Web is narrowing and Google Video Viewer comes only to confirm it.
