One month after the previous stage of the YouTube Play competition, Google and the Guggenheim are ready to reveal the 25 winners. Their videos will be exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum in New York and in other locations from around the world.

"It was our goal to reach the widest possible audience, inviting individuals from around the world to submit a video for consideration," YouTube said.

"While our original goal had been to select 20, the jury was so moved by the quality of work submitted that we decided to honor a final list of 25. We believe the end result is 25 of the most unique and innovative video work to be created and distributed online during the past two years," it announced.

The unveiling of the 25 creative videos was streamed live from the Guggenheim and highlights of the event are now available online, on YouTube, where else.

YouTube and the Guggenheim announced YouTube Play "A Biennial of Creative Video" as they called it. The idea was to discover some of the most creative videos on the site and present them in a formal exhibition at the famous museum.

With 23,000 submissions, it was up to the YouTube team to weed through them and surface the true gems. 125 videos were preselected for the shortlist which was announced last month.

From those, 25 were chosen by the hand-picked international jury to be presented in the gallery. Besides the main exhibition, the videos will be showcased at the Guggenheim Museums in Bilbao, Berlin and Venice.

All 25 videos are available over at youtube.com/play and so are highlights and clips from the live event. The excerpts from the event, including live performances, are loaded by default, but you can filter the selection to view just the winners, or the shortlist, or videos about the project itself.
