The drawing is a tragicomic point of view

I'm not certain that many of you have an interest in the way other people die (I find that morbid and my statement redundant), but just in case you ever input such a query in the search box and hit the Enter key, or push the Search button, it will probably amaze you that many things are left out, while others are presented in full detail (no pictures, just the story? not that morbid!)

The xkcd comic deals today with exactly this issue, as you can see in the picture, and the graph there shows the number of Google results returned for various "died in a _______ accident" searches. I never knew skydiving was such a dangerous sport, I mean I knew, but I thought people wouldn't do it without their parachute, or if it was packed by somebody else. I wouldn't go even if I packed it myself, I'd definitely rip it with something by mistake and not see.

The tooltip on the author's page mentions the funny fact that filling the blank space above with words like "car" and "boating" will give significantly higher number results as opposed to "snake charming" or "haberdashery", which turn up none. Because of that, neither have been included in the comic, it's not possible to draw a graph that has a million or so results bar, and then put next to it one for only 2. I guess it's like in skating, the extremes annihilated themselves.

Nevertheless, to return to the original idea, it's awfully weird to take interest in other people's deaths and, more than that, to search for it and make a top. I mean it seems and feels weird to me, but other than that, it's a damn funny idea for a comic. I just wonder what will Google be used for next?
