Google Gadgets are now accessible through IBM's WebSphere Portal software

IBM is one of the most known companies that manufactures and sells computer hardware, software or infrastructure services, representing a powerful firm that attracts an impressive number of visitors. Google is one of the giants that were attracted by IBM because the search giant made a partnership with IBM meant to increase the popularity of Google Gadgets. The gadgets are some tiny tools developed by both Google and users able to improve the functionality of certain services by adding one more ability. Currently, the Google Gadgets are compatible with several products developed by the search giant including Google Desktop or Personalized Homepage.

The partnership with IBM is meant to improve the gadgets' accessibility by allowing users to browse them directly from IBM's WebSphere Portal software. As you might know, Google allows users to design their own gadgets that are published on a single page currently loaded with numerous tiny utilities.

"Google and IBM are expected to announce a partnership today that will allow corporate users to access Google gadgets from IBM's WebSphere Portal software. Google gadgets are mini-applications that work inside a Web page of with the Google homepage or Google Desktop. The partnership will allow Websphere users to customize existing gadgets -- or, ostensibly, create their own -- to work with data from their secure network," Google Watch reported.

In the past, there were several speculations about a potential Google and Dell partnership after the company released multiple computers with a lot of Google products already installed. The laptops were based on a Windows XP operating system but they also contained Google Desktop, Google Toolbar, Google Earth and other tools provided by the search giant.
