Hey there, papa Google! What do you have for us today, what else is there that you know so damn well everything about and we are so insignificant and little that we need tutoring? Oh, you want to take away free choice from us? Ok, that's cool, we must obey, because
you must probably know everything and, most importantly, we can't do anything about it anyway.
And then I hung up. Or, I wish I could have. Unfortunately, it wasn't as open to the public a decision that the Mountain View based company took yesterday. What happened is that the AdSense users have been left without the "Advertise on this site" link, which let them decide by themselves where the ads they pay for are being placed.
It was absolutely logical, a marketer found a site where he thought he'd have his ads placed on, click the link and buy a run of ads there. But no, Google decided that we as humans are flawed and that we should trust the system it has set up. The Algorithm is unquestionable, the Algorithm is king and knows best. No more messy human intuition, computers measure response rates and are able to tweak accordingly. All hail the Algorithm!
What else should we be stripped down by Google? I think that it knows better what we want to search the Internet for, so every time the homepage is opened, a hand should appear from the screen, push us back into the chair and, taking into account what sites we've been browsing all day, it would type in all the queries we could possibly be interested in and leave to us just the decision of the order, in which we want to view the search results. Or better yet, it could take that decision for us, as well.
I know that it's a lot of drama being pictured, but hey, the Algorithm knows best.
