You surely know that Google's most popular service is Google Search, the best search engine in the entire world that allows you to search the internet for all kinds of information. Imagine that the official page of the Google Search Engine is visited every day by millions of users and the company knows that. That's why the search giant decided to promote some of its products directly on the official page of the search giant, Google Groups being only the first solution that is included in the main site of the company.

Because Google's search engine is used every day by millions of users, it would be very interesting to know the most popular keywords entered in the search box. Google Trends was meant to help you find this thing by displaying you the most used search queries as well as other information about the locations, regions or languages. "Google Trends aims to provide insights into broad search patterns. As a Google Labs product, it is still in the early stages of development. Also, it is based upon just a portion of our searches, and several approximations are used when computing your results. Please keep this in mind when using it," the company says about the service.

Today, multiple internet users reported that Google Trends returns some very interesting statistics about two of the most used keywords on the search engine: yahoo and sex. Although I never searched Google for "sex", I was amazed to find out that the country that used this term very often is? Romania! El Salvador takes the leader position for searching after "yahoo", while Japan and Romania are ranked as the 2nd and the 3rd.

In the top cities rank, Bogota, Colombia is the leader for the "yahoo" term, while Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia searched for the most "sex".

"I was reading Slashdot yesterday and came across an interesting tidbit. It turns out that, according to data from Google Trends, Yahoo! passed sex as the number one search term on their search engine last year. When we heard that Google searchers thought Yahoo! was better than sex, let's just say it put a little smile on our faces," Raj Gossain, Yahoo! Search, sustained on the official blog of the giant portal.
