Soon, advertisers and maybe publishers will be able to call Google with their problems

In a sign, perhaps, of the changing tides at Google, the company has confirmed that it will be debuting full phone support for all advertisers using the AdSense network. This has always been a sore spot for Google and a criticism, but ditching traditional phone support was one of the ways the company was able to scale its business to the more than 2 million AdSense users around the world.

During Google's annual shareholder meeting, Google made it known that it is already working on this and that phone support will eventually be available to all AdSense users and maybe to publishers as well.

When asked if Google is doing anything to improve communications between publishers, advertisers and the company, Google’s SVP of advertising Susan Wojcicki confirmed that phone support is in the works.

"We are working very hard to enable all of our advertisers and publishers to contact us and to be able to get phone support," she answered the questions, according to Search Engine Land. "We’ve been in the process of rolling that out."

Interestingly enough, new CEO Larry Page also pitched in. He was also at the meeting and actually spend quite some time explaining to shareholders that the company is on the right track and it's still focused on its core business, despite experimenting with new technologies and projects.

"The gist of your question, that we should be providing better services to publishers is absolutely true," Larry Page added. "We should have better communication channels and all those things, and these are areas we’re actively working on."

So far, Google has been relying on its help pages, forums and other peers to help those having problems with its advertising network or publishers trying to figure out if what they're doing is right to climb up in the rankings.
