New downtime announced for Analytics

Google had only 7 minutes of downtime since January 1 and this is amazing if we think at the impressive number of products owned by the company. According to the reports, Google encountered 3 minutes of downtime on January 18 and on April 3 when some of the Google solutions were unavailable. Today, the search giant announced a temporary downtime for the Analytics product, sustaining the product will be unavailable today for a few hours. The official reason for the downtime is a routine maintenance that will block the access to all the accounts. Although the service will be restricted, the data will continue to be collected and will be available just after Analytics will be online.

"Google Analytics will experience downtime today, Thursday, 12 April, 2007 at 12:00 AM PDT for a few hours for routine maintenance. Your account will be inaccessible during this time.

During this downtime, Google Analytics data will continue to be collected within your account. Your account will be accessible and fully updated within a few hours after 12:00 AM PDT. We apologize for any inconvenience this downtime has caused," Jeff Gillis, Google Analytics Team, sustained on the official blog of the product.

As I said before, Google recorded only 7 minutes of downtime in more than four months of online activity. The number of the products owned by Google is quite impressive so, a temporary unavailability of the search giant is quite normal for a fast maintenance over the services. Yesterday, YouTube, the online video sharing service owned by Google, returned a 404 Not Found error, helping the search giant to improve its downtime. Although the company didn't make any official statements concerning the unavailability, it was probably only a quick maintenance period for the video service.
