Microsoft Office is one of the solutions that are continuously attracting more and more customers because the functions provided by the applications are very powerful and well developed. That's why many companies tried to provide a powerful alternative for Microsoft Office, a solution that can bring them a lot of money and popularity.

Google is one of these companies, the search giant being interested in a ThinkFree acquisition, a firm that provides a Microsoft Office online alternative.

Even if the owner of the company is refusing to sell it to Google, the search engine giant representatives already met twice this month with ThinkFree executives, according to Jong-jin Baek, president of Haansoft, the company that owns ThinkFree.

ThinkFree already released an online version of Office solution, being very similar with the one provided by Microsoft, with same toolbars, functions, menus and even interface. Because the service is online based, it suits perfectly with Google's needs, a company that owns multiple online solutions.

"However, the Korea-based creator of the ThinkFree suite is reluctant to sell it to Google, an executive at the firm said. The Google team that handled the recent purchase of YouTube has met twice this month with representatives of ThinkFree Corp," according to Jong-jin Baek, the president of ThinkFree's parent company, Haansoft.

"Google's intention is to acquire ThinkFree, Baek claimed in interviews with Korean media over the weekend. ThinkFree has developed several versions of a Java-based office suite that can run online inside a web browser, or in a standalone version. The software has attracted generally positive reviews, although there have been some complaints about bugs and instability. The online version is available free of charge," Vnunet said.

As you know, Google already owns an online solution for creating word and spreadsheet files but, an Office solution can boost the number of clients because money is not interesting anymore for the search giant.
