iOS 5 is causing trouble for some Google Voice users, according to Vincent Paquet, Senior Product Manager for Google Voice, who confirmed to the press that iTunes is no longer listing the app as a downloadable item for now.

According to Paquet, the team at Google decided to remove the application before things got out of control.

Paquet said "our last update of this week had a bug that caused the app to crash at sign in. We removed it so it did not affect additional users until the fix gets published."

In addition to the flagship voice feature, Google Voice iOS lets you send free text messages to U.S. phones and make international calls at low rates, as well as access your voicemail messages with transcription.

A new version of the app should be released in the iTunes App Store shortly. Unfortunately, Google does not have an ETA.
