At this time, the search giant owns two similar products, Google Video and YouTube that provide almost the same functions, aiming to attract the same category of users. Today, the company announced the first important movement for the two services, sustaining the team will concentrate more on YouTube than on Google Video.

"I want to start off by giving my heartfelt thanks to all of who have been loyal readers of the Google Video Blog. It's been a real pleasure delivering the best of Google Video to your screens. But even though you may not be receiving your daily dose of entertainment from me, fret not! There's a plethora of footage at your fingertips on Google Video and of course on YouTube! And if blog reading is a regular habit, do check out the YouTube Blog to find out what the YT editors consider must-see. And again, thank you for staying tuned," the Google Video team sustained in a blog post.

Although the company's plans are not quite clear, I guess the Google Video team will try to concentrate more on the recently acquired service, YouTube, trying to develop its impressive community of members. So, I guess we should expect for some rare postings on the official blog of Google Video, while the YouTube blog will be assaulted by articles.

There are numerous users that are asking themselves why Google is trying to keep both Google Video and YouTube although the two services are providing the same functions. Well, the answer was given by Google some time ago; the company sustaining the two products have different goals: Google Video will continue to be based on the content it provides while YouTube will try to increase the impressive community of users.
