Finding info on movies or buying tickets to a nearby show just became easier

Google has just announced a series of tweaks brought to the search results pages that users will access when looking for a movie or a theater on their Android-based devices.

Through these changes, Google intends to make the discovery of movies, showtimes and theaters much faster and easier than before, though only users in the United States can take advantage of it at the moment.

Basically, users will now be provided with interactive results on their searches in a new swipeable ribbon, and will see the most relevant information at the top of the screen.

All these changes were meant to enhance the experience that users receive when performing search on Google.com from the browser on their smartphones.

On their Android devices, users will be provided with detailed information on a movie when searching for one.

They will be able to see the movie poster, along with a short summary, and ratings. Moreover, they will be provided with details on the theaters nearby where the movie plays.

“Designed to help you quickly browse what’s playing in theaters now, this information instantly updates as you slide through the movie posters -- no need to wait for a page to load or to use the back button,” Google, explains.

However, there is more to it. Users will also be provided with the option to have a look at the official trailer for the movie, as long as one is available for them.

Add to that the option to buy tickets to the show at a nearby theater, and you’re all set up. Especially since all these are available straight from the handset in the palm of your hand, which translates access to them at all times.

The best deal of all is that users don’t need to do something special to benefit from the new enhancements. They will be available when firing up the browser on their Android device and start searching for ‘movies,’ ‘theaters’ or a specific title on Google.com.
