As you surely know, Google Earth is a very popular downloadable application that allows users to view maps and other imagery captured directly from the satellites. The tool is used in the entire world with different goals such as observing the Earth or even monitoring the volcanoes' activity. The most impressive use of the application concerns the terrorists, Google Earth being used to organize attacks against UK troops located in Basra.
It seems like the search giant aims to insert Google Earth into a new domain: Formula 1.
"As exclusively revealed by RealHondaF1.com eight days ago, Honda Racing F1 are to run their RA107 covered in Google Earth imagery, representing the Japanese manufacturers desire to promote their environmental credentials. To be revealed on Monday at the Natural History Museum, the RA107 is covered in a map of the entire globe, and lacks any sponsor logos, bar a small Bridgestone logo on the nosecone," Sportnetwork reported.
The partnership seems to be extremely simple: the cars developed by Honda will be painted with satellite imagery captured with Google Earth without any logo or other sponsor. As you can see in the image attached to the article, the results are really attractive displaying certain locations of the entire world.
This is not the first time when the search giant and Google Earth are involved in car-related matters as several rumors about a revolutionary technology meant to drive our cars are continuously spreading on the Internet. It seems like Google aims to develop a new product based on Google Earth and its detailed imagery to allow users to implement it into the cars' computers and provide automatically driving to a certain destination included in the map solution.
