New research center to be revealed soon

Of course the title is not wrong, what kind of question is this? If you're still amazed, I'm confirming it again: Google plans to open a technology center on the Moon. According to a job opening published some time ago on the Google Job page, the search giant is looking for engineers to work on a lunar hosting and research center scheduled for the spring of 2007. Now, it's already spring but the research office is not released yet. Of course, the last day of spring is June 21 so we must wait a little while longer until we'll be able to search for Moon elements.

As you know, Google has a lot of technology centers all over the world so you're probably asking why a Moon location? Google expected this and placed an official statement on the job openings page. "It's a logical question to ask. Google's current engineering facilities in the United States, India and Switzerland are all leaders in search technology development. However, by locating a research and technology center on the Moon, Google engineers will be able to experiment with an entirely different set of parameters."

Because today is April 2, only one day after April Fools' Day and the well-known announcement of Gmail Paper, all the news concerning Google are treated like a prank and this one is probably a joke too. If you don't agree, have a look at the description of the Googlunaplex: "35 engineers, 27,000 low cost web servers, 2 massage therapists and a sushi chef formerly employed by the pop group Hanson."

OK, I admit Google has all the resources to open a research center on the Moon but I really believe this is an April Fools' Day prank. Let's just wait a little and see what happens.
