Teach For America is an organization that was founded to improve the educational system in US by hiring college graduates as teachers in the urban or rural schools. As the company says, "currently, over 4,000 corps members are teaching in
over 1,000 schools in 22 regions across the country; more than 10,000 Teach For America alumni continue working from inside and outside the field of education for the fundamental changes necessary to ensure educational excellence and equity."
The organization needs a world reputation to attract more graduates, but it is very difficult because the funds are limited while an ad campaign is very expensive.
Today, Teach For America announced a partnership with Google, an agreement that will allow students to read more information about the jobs offered directly from the giant's job service.
"In recognition of the strengths exhibited by Teach For America corps members and their strong commitment to education, Google is offering two-year deferrals to individuals who are accepted into Teach For America's program and who also receive a full-time offer to join Google.
In addition to being able to defer their Google employment, participants in the program will receive a Google internship for the summer between their first and second years of teaching, and will be paired with a Google mentor, who will work with them throughout their teaching commitment. After completing their commitments in the classroom, participants will start their full-time roles at Google," they said.
