Google is not wasting too much time in the new year and has announced that Chile is the next country to get Street View imagery. In fact, Street View cars are already roaming the streets and paths of several major cities in the country, snapping photos that will be incorporated into Google Maps once they're processed.
Google Street View is already available in more than 30 countries, though it's not always welcomed by everyone, but Google is working on adding more locations. To date, Google Street has only been made available in two Latin American countries, Mexico and Brazil, only one of which is in South America. Chile will be the second. Google has already started shooting in the country, but it is going to be a while before the first photos become available online. Google has to process them all, to blur faces and car number plates to protect the privacy of everyone in the photos.
