Market researcher comScore released a new report concerning the evolution of the top companies on the Internet and the number of visitors they managed to attract in April and May 2007. According to the research, the Google sites are still the most attractive webpages on the Internet because it recorded no less than 766.188 visitors in April compared with 771.997 in May. The second place was won by Microsoft with no less than 520.238 visitors in May and 536.401 in May 2007. Yahoo is placed on the third position after its sites recorded no less than 467.642 visitors in April and 469.826 in May, according to comScore.

"Online retail sites also benefited from an upsurge in online shopping in May, brought about in large part by the occurrence of Mother's Day and the onset of the summer holiday season. Price-comparison group Ciao Sites was the fastest growing property, increasing by 31 percent to 29.6 million visitors, while Priceline.com Incorporated grew 15 percent to 23.1 million visitors. Online cataloguing property Karstadt-Quelle grew its worldwide traffic by 15 percent," comScore mentioned in the research.

The most impressive growth was recorded by the Cupertino company Apple that recorded an increase of 5 percent in traffic. The iPhone producer had no less than 115.262 visitors in April 2007 and 120.982 in May 2007. "This increase precedes the recent US release of the Apple iPhone. eBay and Amazon - ranked as the sixth and eight largest Internet properties respectively - both experienced gains of four percent from April to May," comScore mentioned.
