Google Nexus 7, the first tablet PC to be included in the popular Nexus series of Google devices, has started shipping to those who pre-ordered it.

The tablet, available for purchase for only $199 through Google’s own website, comes with a 7-inch 1280 x 800 HD display (216 ppi) and packs a Quad-core Tegra 3 processor.

Google has had the new device available for reservations since a few weeks ago, after making it official at the Google I/O conference.

“Locked and loaded, ready to play: we’ve started shipping +Nexus 7 pre-orders today,” a tweet from the company reads.

For the time being, no specific info on the markets in which the device is shipping has been provided, but Google is expected to deliver it in the next three business days. Those who pre-ordered the tablet should receive confirmation of shipment soon.
