Google has just released a new version of Picasa, the photo/video management and editing utility for desktop users. Mac owners in particular should be glad to hear that OS X Mountain Lion now fully supports the application.

Designed to help anyone keep their photos and videos organized, Picasa lets you make quick edits using a bunch of built-in effects. You can use it to create albums or simply upload your flicks to Google+ for sharing and tagging.

Existing users will tell you that Picasa is a treasure trove of video manipulation features. Those functions include resizing, collages, Movie Maker, printing options, tagging options, mapping features, the ability to sync content to the web, captions, and even a backup utility.

Picasa 3.9.13.29 is “signed for Mountain Lion,” according to Google. In other words, the software is now 100% compatible with the newest version of Apple’s desktop operating system, OS X 10.8.
