Google has been providing various updates to a nice range of Android applications lately, and the popular Google Search software was among them, it seems.

Version 3.1.24 of the application is now available for download for the owners of Android-based devices, bringing a set of interesting enhancements to both tablets and smartphones.

Among these, we can count slightly larger icons on the homescreen, paired with a modified Settings icon that appears after a long press on the display.

At the same time, Android Police notes that there is a series of improvements related to the manner in which Google Now associates voice commands with contact names for calls, texts, and the like. There’s also a new card for improving contact recognition, it seems.

Owners of Android tablets will also see that the update moves the search icon to the left side of the screen (at least on Android 4.4-based devices).
