Google has just released a new version of its Search application for Android devices, which brings a few new features and some improvements.

However, the latest update may also ready new features that Google plans to add in future versions of Search. In this regard, AndroidPolice reports they have found that there’s a new notification feature waiting to be enabled by Google probably in a future iteration of the application.

This push notification containing a short text may be triggered via “OK, Google” hotword detection, but there’s no telling how it will be useful to Android users.

Anyway, let’s see what new feature the update enables in this version of Google Search. Well, the most important seems to be the fact that it introduces Flight cards, which offer alternative flights in case of delays.

In addition, Google added train and bus reminders from users’ Gmail reservations. As expected, some bug fixes and performance improvements have been included in the update as well. Keep in mind that these new features and improvements are only available for those who own devices powered by Android 4.1 and up.

You can now download Google Search for Android 3.6 for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.3 and up.
