New feature tested on the search technology

Google's PlusBox was especially designed by the company to improve the functionality of the SERP by adding new simple functions displayed near the returned links. Take for example Google Maps that is now attached to some results providing map location representation. Recently, Google also added financial information for certain companies available under the PlusBox displayed near specific results. It seems like the search giant is now testing one more PlusBox function to allow users to play a video directly from the search engine result page. Although the feature is currently unavailable even for the keyword mentioned by the blogger, Googlified posted a screenshot of the new function returned for the "nightwish video" phrase.

"Razvan Antonescu sent an email to me along with this screen shot explaining that Google is taking their PlusBox (a cooler version of OneBox) technology to a totally new level - playing videos in web search result pages. He said the the "results from Google Video and YouTube sometimes have an attached 'Show Video' link that plays the whole video in the SERPs". I cannot reproduce the same result with the query "nightwish videos", and Razvan later told me that he can't replicate it again either. Appearently this is another experiment Google is doing," Googlified said in a blog post.

As the blogger also sustains, it is probably a new testing session started by the search giant because SearchMash, a search engine owned by the company and designed especially to test new features before they are implemented into the well known search technology, also tested the feature in the past.
