Google+ has had some problems this morning, but it seems that at the very least we have something new to enjoy on the social network and beyond as the company has added a brand new button to make it easier to post on Google+.

At the top of the page, in the ribbon that holds the Google+ logo, your name, the app central, the notifications bell and the profile photo, if you have attached one to the account. Now, in between the bell and the photograph sits a square with a plus sign in it.

Once you click the button, you’ll get the quick post pop-up that will permit for you to make an update on the social network. You have the clear text box, as well as the buttons for various things you can add to the posts, such as photos, links, videos, events and the brand new polls the company recently introduced.

You can also choose who to share the information with. For instance, you can choose to share it with your family, with all your circles, the public or certain individuals. Underneath, there’s the button that allows you to send emails about this particular post to the people you’ve mentioned you want to share the data with. That means that anyone in the “Family” circle, for instance, will be getting a notification from Google.

Of course, the checkbox won’t appear if you choose to make the post public.

The button is everywhere!

The quick-post button for Google+ now appears on all Google services. As long as you can see your name and the notification area in the upper area, you’ll notice the button. That means Gmail, Drive, Photos, Google Maps, and even in the Chrome new tab page.

This is obviously Google’s way to try to make it easier to access Google+ and to help people post more easily without having to actually leave the page they’re on to share their thoughts or whatever else they may find interesting, such as news links, or funny videos.

The company has been trying to make Google+ take off, but it hasn’t really managed to get to the success it was hoping for. Recently, among complaints that Google has been forcing people to sign up for the social network, they’ve actually stopped forcing new Gmail users to create a Google+ account and is allowing them to simply skip that particular step.
