It’s been almost two months since Google released the first Android L Developer Preview image for Nexus 5, and now it looks like the first update for this version of the operating system has just went live.

The updated Android L Preview image for Nexus 5 has been published by Google on its developer website, so those who wish to download and flash it on their smartphone can do so for free.

The release of the latest Android L Preview image hasn’t been accompanied by an official changelog, but Google has released the Fit SDK recently, so we suspect the new image also contains some APIs for developers who wish to test apps that use Google Fit.

Aside from that, there might be a certain number of bug fixes and minor improvements that may or may not be noticed by Nexus 5 users who install the Android L Preview image on their smartphones. No new features should have been included in Android L version LPV81C, but without a changelog there’s no way to confirm it.

As always, make sure you back up your info on the smartphone if you decide to go for the latest version of Android L Preview. But if you already have the previous iteration, than you probably already know what you have to do.
