Jason Kersey of the Google Chrome team is proud to confirm that the Stable channel has been updated to version 12.0.742.112 for all platforms, including Mac OS X, to include a new Flash plugin and security fixes.

Kersey confirms on the Google Chrome Releases blog that “This [Stable] release contains an updated version of Adobe Flash, along with the security fixes noted below.

Medium CVE-2011-2345: Out-of-bounds read in NPAPI string handling. High CVE-2011-2346: Use-after-free in SVG font handling High CVE-2011-2347: Memory corruption in CSS parsing High CVE-2011-2350: Lifetime and re-entrancy issues in the HTML parser High CVE-2011-2348: Bad bounds check in v8 High CVE-2011-2351: Use-after-free with SVG use element High CVE-2011-2349: Use-after-free in text selection. Kersey encourages Chrome fans to see the Chromium security page for more detail on these patches, as well as the SVN revision log for a full list of changes occurring in the latest version of Chrome stable for Mac, Windows, and Linux.

As for the newly included Flash Player plugin, version 10.3.181.34 addresses compatibility issues with some content using cross-domain policy files.

This version of Flash also fixes rendering issues when attempting to watch GPU rendered video on MacBook, MacBook Air or Mac Mini systems using the Intel GMA X3100 GPU.

Users of these devices are encouraged to download the newest Flash Player from Adobe even if they do not use Chrome.

Those who enjoy using experimental Chrome builds can try out the new Google Chrome 14.0.803.0 Dev which features an updated V8 engine (v. 3.4.6.2).

All Mac versions of Chrome (Stable, Beta, Dev) are immediately available for download via the link below. Chrome calls for an Intel-based Mac with a minimum 128MB of RAM and Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) installed.
